If your nice, clean, fresh sheets are struggling to hide the sweat & tears endured and remembered by your mattress, duvet & pillows, then for them, you’re on the right page.
Chances are – that though you’d like them clean and fresh too, they just won’t fit in the washing machine or tumble drier. Experts (actually, we don’t know anyone with a PhD in mattress testing either, but the healthcare people are in accord) recommend that duvets & pillows are cleaned at least every six months.

Dust mites are invisible to the naked eye, they thrive in dark, warm environments and whilst you’re not likely to be housing the potential 20,000, the chance of zero is quite slim too. Bed bugs – at least aren’t ‘invisible’, but with around 50% of people who get attacked being unaware due to the bugs anaesthetic bite and mostly happening whilst you’re asleep… would you know?

Does anyone in your family suffer from dust mites or bug bites and what do we mean by ‘suffer’?
Mites might be considered more of a distasteful inconvenience than a serious threat, but if any of you are experiencing allergic reactions, have Asthma, Rhinitis, Eczema, Sinusitis, Emphysema or Bronchitis that your Doctor hasn’t found another reason for… It could well be that mites or bugs may be a factor.

Also think about feather or down pillows (cheap or foam ones might be more economically replaced), quilts, cushions and sleeping bags.
